CHICKEN BIRYANI 



 

Ingredients:

  • Basmati rice - 200gms
  • Ghee or Oil - 3tbsp
  • Chicken pieces - 500gms
  • Curds - 1and 1/2 cups
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1and 1/4 tbsp
  • Onions -2 (sliced)
  • Tomato puree - 1cups
  • Garam Masala - 1and 1/2tsp
  • Jeera - 1TSP
  • Cloves - 2 to 3
  • Peppercorns -2 to 3
  • Bay leaf - 2 nos.
  • A pinch of saffron mixed Milk  - 1/4cup
  • Salt to taste

 

Recipe Directions:

  • Mix curds, ginger garlic paste, salt , garam masala with chicken pieces and keep in the refrigerator for 1 hour to marinate.
  • take a microwave safe bowl and add oil, put sliced onions, tomato puree and dry masalas and microwave at 100% power for 8 to 10 minutes. Stirring in between.
  • Soak the rice for half an hour then add it to the masala. Also add the marinated chicken and water and saffron-milk mix and microwave covered at 90% power for 20 to 25 minutes. Stirring in between.
  • Give standing time of 10 minutes, Serve hot with raita and chutney.
